National Standards for Grades 3-5

Combine the concepts of severe weather, climate, and forces as students study how to protect structures and landforms from the devastation of natural hazards. In this set of activities, students learn about the weather and climate in different locations, then design and build structures to withstand intense forces caused by severe weather, such as high winds, heavy rains, and flooding.
