National Standards for Grades 6-8
 
Challenge middle school students to explain phenomena they observe in terms of the properties of light and sound with this set of hands on activities for exploration. Includes a wave simulator students can build, activities for modeling the reflection, refraction, and absorption of light, and activities for exploring the relationship between vibration and sound. Students explore the electromagnetic spectrum, mirrors, prisms, lenses, and digital and analog signaling. Includes extension activities for demonstrating proficiency.
