Kemtec’s convenient portable Cyrolizer Cold Chamber provides an inexpensive alternative to the traditional chill table. Features a removable 60 mm x 15 mm clear polystyrene specimen dish ideal for handling live insects such as Drosophila and mosquitoes. Insects are immobilized for study by subjecting them to cold temperatures. Product includes two 9 cm diameter polypropylene Cryolizer Chill Blocks, which are placed in a freezer for one to two hours until they reach a temperature of -18ÆC (0ÆF). The polystyrene specimen dish is placed on the chilled metal surface of the Cryolizer to protect insects as they remain chilled for examination. Each Cryolizer will require re-chilling after approximately one hour. Two Chill Blocks are provided so that one may be chilled while the other is being used. Prior to first use, freeze Cryolizers overnight.
